"There is no life, without death," -Kyle Idleman

This is a quote shown to me recently that I've been thinking about and feel that there is a lot we can learn and gather from it.

Life and death, opposite constructs, but when you think about it they are on the same spectrum. You can see life come from death, but also death come from life. While this is a rather hard thing to digest, I feel it's important for people to consider and realize the truth behind it.

If you think about when it becomes fall, we get to see the most beautiful colors in the trees, but a lot of times we forget that this is actually due to the tree cutting off the nutrients the leaves need, in order for itself to survive. We get this phenomenon that so many people love, but it's rather symbolic to us as individuals. Sometimes we have things in our lives that we think are essential to live with, but later on we realize that these things are actually bringing death into us, maybe it's taking happiness, or maybe it's taking too much of yourself, or maybe it's something that's making you lose yourself.

I think that this is a good way to show that we sometimes bring death into our own lives. Not literally, although sometimes it is. For me I know that I've clung onto to things because I thought it provided some sort of safety for me, but then I ended up realizing that the whole time I was holding on, pieces of me were getting chipped away because I wasn't caring enough about it.

But, on the flip side, sometimes we can bring life out of death. When you drop the things that hold you back I truly believe that you can feel that weight, that burden, being lifted off of you. Whether it's death to a relationship, or death to a bad behavior, you can find new life in yourself when you kill off the parts that are holding you back.

So with all of this, are you considering anything that you need to kill off? Or something that you potentially need to bring back into your life?
